Hello and welcome to Issue 15 of the Third Dimension diskmag for
July 1995.This month there is a feature on the use of animations
with some examples on the disk. There is also a digital drum kit
to play around with for Atari/Amiga users.PC users are provided
with the code to enable them to create their own drum kit. There
is also a breakdown of some of the routines that were used in the
kit 1 game 'Endurance' by Ozzy Omara.Ozzy is the star of this
months profile feature which seems to be very popular.Antony
Quinn has also provided Amiga users with our very own text
editor called TED.There is also a new ghost train ride for
everyone to try out in the Our_Town datafile created by Peter
Ward.Look at the Our-town textfile for more details. There
are a lot more tutorials and lots more datafiles etc to
try out too.
I want to greatly expand the Third Dimension PD library to
include other 3D and virtual reality programs as well as utilities,
textures and other related items. So if you have anything to offer
( which must be fully PD ) then please send it in to me for
inclusion and you can have a disk for disk swap as a thankyou.
I have now collated and analysed the information from the
questionnaires which i asked you all to fill in.The results show
that most members want to see more information on the use of
brushanims ( which was in last months diskmag ) and more icons/
brushes to use with them. You also want more sound samples so i will
include more of these too.A lot of members want more tutorials and
simple routines to follow. You also mentioned that you want less
borders,so we will reduce the amount of these included onto the
disk. The letters section and the Mandylogue were voted as being
very popular and a lot of members like the other features ( stories,
jokes, news items etc ) which are not exactly connected with the 3D
kits too.The Profile feature seems to be popular as a lot of you
like to know about fellow kit users. The average mark awarded to
the diskmag was nine out of ten from its users, with a lot of
you giving a very generous 10 out of 10.Thankyou to all those who
took the time to fill out the questionnaires.
New users to this diskmag please note that you do need
either 3D construction kit 1 or 2 to use these datafiles.
If you want to buy 3D Construction kit 1 or 2 then contact Mandy
Rodrigues.Telephone O1492 8773O5 for more details.
So what has been happening at Tony Towers? Well i managed to
finish creating the pier at St.Annes and the datafile is included
on this disk.Simply walk towards the building and move to the
left to enter the beach area to get a side view of the pier. This
project was not easy as i had to work from memory a lot and guess
a few bits.
I also attended the Atari/Amiga show in London with fellow
3D kitters Ozzy Omara and Stephen Taylor. There was a lot of
Falcon software on show and the Amiga A1200 was well supported
too.Seasoft PD ( Third Dimension distributors ) were doing a
roaring trade as were many others.I did not really see any new
products on show but i am sure that there must have been some
there.I managed to give a few copies of the diskmag out to some
of the computer magazines which were in attendance
there.Hopefully they will review the diskmag soon.I wonder if we
can top the 85 per cent awarded to us by ST Format.
-----------------
You can pick any one PD disks from the Third Dimension
library for FREE if you send in your finished game/utility to be
included into the Third Dimension PD library. You can also choose a
FREE PD disk if you send in contributions for 3 consecutive months
in a row.

Thought for the month!

make someone happy.
